I do not recommend this for anyone. I'm well aware of the risk I'm taking and have taken measures to protect myself so please don't emulate my actions.
I go through my spam box daily, pick out the most interesting emails and engage them in dialog. Sometimes it's nothing more than a simple note with some colorful adjectives, but for the more interesting emails, I write rambling responses (usually unfiltered stream of consciousness) and sit back to see what happens. I post those that I find funny on my blog (motes-notes.com) and the rest I just keep for my own entertainment. I obviously receive much much more spam mail than in the past, but it's appropriately filtered and when I need a break at night from whatever I'm doing I find the exercise to be somewhat cathartic.
