World Bank cheat scam

Today, I received a SMS Message
from a sender who masked
themselves as the
“World Bank”
around 11:30AM Brisbane (GMT
+10) time. The message told me
that my mobile number had
won $7.8 Million US dollars and
to claim this
“prize”, contact a
person via an email address.
After researching more about
this fake SMS, I
’m letting you
know that this is a scam. If it’s
too good to be true (and this is
the case), do not reply to the
sender or do what they ask
what they you to do in the SMS.
The msg goes on like this,
From: WORLD BANK
(number unknown)
To: donttrythis
Content:
Congratulations your
mobile have won US $7.8M
for World Bank Int
’l Relief
Effort Award. To claim
contact Mrs.A.Bellver via:
[email removed]
It also seems that the sender
used SMS Spoofing.
